UDO which was introduced with the Super 6 poly synth just announced its new flagship synthesizer the Super Gemini on SuperBooth 2023! The Super Gemini is a massive 20-voice bi-timbral hybrid synth with digital oscillators that are fed into an analog signal path made and we are blown away by the very first demos.
The most innovative thing about it is the dual-layer layout that lets you control the two layers independently giving you full hands-on control on each layer as you play it making a very expressive and performance-oriented synth. It has a 61-key semi-weighted keyboard with poly aftertouch, and a ribbon sensor for bends & modulation while maintaining the unique binaural signal path first made on the Super 6.
This is the definition of a flagship, fully-featured synthesizer that’s made to last forever. The Super 6 has become so successful for its lush and dreamy sound and the Super Gemini has arrived to become a modern-day CS-80. As expected, it will be a very expensive instrument costing around 4.000€ and will be available on September 2023.
The good thing about instruments like this is that you may pay a premium price but you’ll get so much in return. There are lots of synths that cost that much money but in most cases, you’re paying extra for the brand and its legacy. In the case of the Super Gemini, it feels like you’re getting a synthesizer made today with its eyes to the future so, if you can afford it, it might be your one and only flagship synth for a lifetime.
